Radix Stephaniae tetrandrae
It is the dried root of Stephania tetrandraS. Moore. It is widely distributed in south-east Asia and its eastern part, theHawaiiislands, as well asChina’sGuangdong,Guangxi,Hunanprovinces. It has the functions of dispelling wind, relieving pain and detumescence. It can be used in treating rheumatic arthralgia, oedema, beriberi, difficulty in urination, eczema, and the like.
