It is commonly known as “Panax notoginseng”, which refers to the roots and rhizomes of Panax notoginseng(Burk.)F.H.C hen of Araliaceae. It is mainly produced inYunnanand parts of Guangxi province, especially inWenshan,Yunnan,China. With medicinal effects of dissipating stasis, hemostasis, dispersing swelling and settling pain, it is mainly used in relieving pain caused by falling down and pain in the chest and abdomen, treating hemoptysis, blood ejection, spontaneous external bleeding, hematochezia, metrorrhagia and metrostaxis, and bleeding due to external injury.
