It is produced in North Africa (Algeria), northernItalyto the Black Sea, West Himalaya, China,North KoreaandJapan, includingNortheast Asia. It has the effects of invigorating the kidney and strengthening Yang, strengthening muscles and bones, replenishing qi and strengthening the heart, dispelling wind and eliminating dampness. It is used in the treatment of impotence, seminal emission, premature ejaculation, sexual function recession, irregular menstruation, menopause syndrome, hypertension, rheumatic pain, hemiplegia, numbness of limbs, weak knee disorders.
